A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after a six-year-old girl was struck in the face by a projectile.
The object narrowly missed the youngster’s eye as she played in the park opposite St Mary’s Infant School in Link Lane, Pulborough.
The girl was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
A teenage boy was arrested over attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He has been released under investigation as police continue to make enquiries into the incident.
As part of this investigation, officers want to speak to people who were in the park at the time of the event, urging them to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 778 of 05/10.
