PINK Floyd star David Gilmour's multi-million pound seafront home has been unveiled for the first time after years of work.

The rockstar's luxury development in Hove has been pictured without scaffolding for the first time, revealing the elaborate facade.

The guitarist and his wife, the novelist Polly Samson, bought Medina House five years ago but had to have it demolished in 2018 after it was found to be beyond repair.

Now, the front of the new home has been revealed, showcasing the design built to echo the original building on the site - a 19th century Turkish bathhouse.

The original Medina House, which dates from 1894, formerly housed a laundry and women’s slipper baths.

The Victorian building formed part of the larger Medina Baths complex, containing two swimming pools and men’s slipper baths.

The 74-year-old musician agreed to replace the historic building with a design that would reflect the original spirit of the bathhouse with planning permission granted in March 2017 by Brighton and Hove City Council.

The property is located close to "Millionaires Row" at the end of Western Esplanade in Hove, where stars including Fatboy Slim, Adele, have lived.

People in the area have expressed their delight at their new rockstar neighbour.

Miles Rose previously told The Argus: "We were very happy with David’s proposals. What he is doing is something that should have been done about 15 years ago.

“What he is doing is to recreate something in keeping with the area and I think it’s good to keep the character of Brighton and Hove alive.

"This is the best possible outcome. I can’t think of any other person who could have done it in the way he is doing it.

“The site had become an eyesore before so it will be good to get it done and finished.”

In July, the guitarist released his first single in five years called Yes, I Have Ghosts.

The track features his 18-year-old daughter Romany singing and playing the harp and was inspired by his wife Polly’s new novel, A Theatre for Dreamers.
