HUNDREDS of patients have been given their annual winter flu jabs safely thanks to surgeries opening drive-throughs.
GP surgeries and medical centres in Brighton joined the scheme to safely vaccinate those at risk from winter flu.
Patients arrived in their cars, on their bikes, on foot, and even in a horse and cart for the jabs.
Nurse Natalie Bluhm said staff from surgeries including St Peter’s Medical Centre, Wellsbourne Healthcare CIC, Park Crescent Medical Centre, Albion Street and Pavilions surgeries were involved.
She said: “The patients really liked it, there was a good atmosphere and they were happy to be getting protected for the winter in a safe and distanced way.”
Some 800 were given vaccines for winter flu, and the scheme at the surgeries will be running for the next two Saturdays between 8.30am and 12.30pm.
Please check with your surgeries about the services on offer.
