Coronavirus: Pop-up beach huts made available over winter

The summer sun may have disappeared, for now, but Brighton Music Hall says its pop-up venture will allows customers to enjoy the beach while staying cosy inside a private hut.

Groups of up to six are welcome to enjoy everything from “brunchin’ bubbles”, which is a prosecco brunch, a “modern family bubble” including two bottles of house wine, soft drinks and fish and chips, to a Christmas buffet.

Staff have ensured the venue is Covid secure by taking bookings in two hours slots and setting aside an hour for deep cleaning.

The food and drink packages are designed for six people, with options for children, and range from between £100 to £320.

As well as the beach huts, there is also a heated, winter-inspired terrace, complete with twinkly lights.

Walk-ins will be available but customers are advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

The installation is set to open on Thursday, October 29, and will remain until Sunday, January 3, not including Christmas Day.

In March Brighton Music Hall, along with its sister site Mrs Fitzherberts in New Road, was forced to close its doors as part of the coronavirus lockdown.

The seafront venue, which hosts live singers and performers on its beach terrace, introduced a take-away service before reopening again in July.

Both venues are known for developing new and innovative dining experiences. Mrs Fitzherberts opened a “lost garden-themed bar” in November, 2019.

Complete with an outdoor fireplace and disco shed, it provides a great setting for breakfast or for a cocktail under the stars.

In previous years, Brighton Musical Hall in King’s Road Arches has erected ten igloos for the festive period.

The igloos were designed for customers to enjoy drinks in a winter setting while staying warm.

Beach hut bookings require a £60 deposit that can be redeemed against food and drink on the day.
