A community radio station is giving people the chance to tell the world what really goes on in their office - behind the professional exterior.

Radio Reverb has launched a light-hearted business show called Brighton Behind The Scenes, presented by local events manager Anna Carey.

Anna, 29, is inviting company representatives or sole traders on to the show to shed light - or perhaps dish the dirt - on life in their work place.

She said: "I want to demystify the office environment and find out what is entailed in someone's day-to-day work, no matter how boring they think it is.

"So far I have had professionals from all types of businesses on the show - from law firms to estate agents, personal trainers, restaurant owners and artists.

"It is a good opportunity for businesses to break down social barriers with the public. Often more serious industries, such as law and finance, can sometimes seem unapproachable and radio provides a great way to break down any stereotypes and put a friendly voice behind the corporate image."

It is 18 months since Radio Reverb was awarded an FM community radio licence by Ofcom but the station still needs commercial sponsors to keep it on air.

The station, based in North Street, Brighton, is not allowed to run traditional adverts. Instead it relies on grants from various bodies, the support of founder members and sponsorship from local businesses.

The station also generates income from live reads, where presenters are given permission to incorporate announcements on behalf of outside companies into their shows.

The station has a remit to "reflect the voices of Brighton and Hove". It broadcasts an eclectic mix of news, views, arts and music from around the world, presented by people from the city.
