AN appeal has been launched after a man attacked two people and tried to rob them in the street.
The incident happened in Station Road in Horsham near the junction with Depot Road on Monday evening at about 10pm.
Two men in their twenties were approached by a man who threatened them and said he had a knife.
The mugger demanded they empty their pockets and tried to grab a bag belonging to one of the men, punching them both as he did so.
But the pair managed to break free and ran off.
Police are now looking for the suspect, who is white, about 6ft 3in tall, very skinn, and in his late teens or early 20s. He wore a navy Harrington style jacket and a beige or black cap with red writing on it, and was smoking a roll up when he approached the men.
PC Katrina Brown Douglas said: "If you saw what happened or if you have any information about the suspect, please contact us online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1403 of 05/10."
