ONE of Chirk’s most popular tourist attractions confirmed it will fully close during the fire-break lockdown.

Chirk Castle will remain closed until Monday, November 9 in line with the lockdown which begins at 6pm on Friday.

The garden at Chirk Castle is open for Wrexham residents only until 6pm tomorrow.

A statement on the Chirk Castle website said: “In line with Welsh Government legislation and ‘fire break’ lockdown, all our places in Wales will temporarily close from October 24 to November 9 to restrict the spread of coronavirus.

“The safety of our staff, volunteers, visitors and local communities remains our priority.

“We urge people to follow legislation, stay home and not travel.

“We look forward to welcoming you back when we’re able to.”

The National Trust website states anyone who has tickets to visit Chirk Castle will receive an email soon.
