THERE have now been 525 cases of coronavirus confirmed within the communities of the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex.
This marks an increase of 117 reported cases in the last week.
The University of Brighton reported a rise of 56 cases between October 19 and October 25, taking its total number of recorded cases to 167 since September 28.
Of these, 163 have been students, two have been staff members and the remaining two people to test positive within the institution's community were part of partner organisations based at the university.
At the University of Sussex, 61 further cases of coronavirus were recorded between October 19 and October 22 - the most recent figures the university has reported.
Of these, 51 were students on campus, eight were students off campus and two were staff members on campus.
This takes the university's total number of open and closed cases of coronavirus recorded through its reporting form or through confirmation from Public Health England to 358 since September 21.
This figure is made up of 241 students on campus, 113 students off campus and four staff members off campus.
