SUSSEX Police made two arrests in connection with drug dealing and stopped another two motorbikes over “noisy exhausts”.
The force launched a day of action against antisocial driving in Wealden on Friday and found they were faced a busy 24 hours.
Acting on intelligence, officers stopped a car suspected of being involved in crime and made two arrests.
One was detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and drug-driving, while the other was brought into custody on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug.
In the same 24-hour spell, 12 motorists were given warnings for excess speed and a further two people were arrested over drink-driving offences.
Two Traffic Offence Reports were issued to drivers with a noisy motorcycle exhaust, and another vehicle was seized as it was being driven with no insurance
Inspector Jon Gross, of the Wealden Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Tackling speeding and anti-social driving are two issues that we know our communities want the police to address.
“This initiative heralds the start of a consistent approach to targeting irresponsible drivers across Wealden.
“I know this initiative will be welcomed by the public and will no doubt contribute to improve road safety in our area.”
