A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being hit by a car.
Police were called to the incident near Hassocks railway station shortly after 4.20pm yesterday following the collision.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A woman pedestrian was taken to hospital for precautionary checks following a collision with a car at the junction of the B2116 Keymer Road and Woodsland Road, Hassocks at 4.22pm yesterday.
The road was partially blocked for a short time as police and ambulance crews attended the scene.
The crash site was cleared by 5pm and traffic was able to return to normal in the area.
