SAM SMITH has released a new music video, filmed entirely on Brighton Palace Pier.

British singer Sam Smith has premiered a music video for their new single Kids Again, which was filmed on and around Brighton Palace Pier.

The video shows the 28-year-old singer dancing along the famous wooden pier, riding the carousel and singing on the beach whilst leaning up against the pier’s foundations.

It also includes a montage of black and white shots of actors riding on the dodgem cars and watching the sunset.

To promote the worldwide release of the video, the London-born singer wrote: “Such a beautiful video directed by the incredible Alasdiar McLellan, it’s all yours.”

Alasdiar McLellan, the British photographer and director behind Smith’s video, has also worked with artists including Adele and indie-pop band, The XX.

Brighton Palace Pier said it has been a “pleasure” to host Sam Smith and their team at the pier.

They said: “Super proud to have had Sam Smith film the video of the amazing new track kids again here on the pier.

“It was a pleasure to have you.”

In September 2019, Sam announced a decision to come out as non-binary and change their gender pronouns to they/them.

The popstar wrote on Instagram: “After a lifetime of being at war with my gender I’ve decided to embrace myself for who I am, inside and out.

“I’ve been very nervous about announcing this because I care too much about what people think.

“I understand there will be many mistakes and mis-gendering but all I ask is you please, please try.

“I hope you see me like I see myself now. Thank you.”

Kids Again is featured on Sam Smith’s new double album, Loves Goes, which has been released today.

Sam said they had “mixed emotions” about the album’s release.

In a tweet they wrote: “It’s such a weird time to release music but I hope this record can be your friend. It’s been mine.

“This is a celebration of youth and music and singing like a drama queen. I love you all eternally.”

The album is Smith’s first release since the 2017 album The Thrill of It All.
