THE theme for our October Camera Club competition was “crisp” - and there was a range of stunning entries as our keen photographers explored Sussex in all its autumnal glory.

Our winner this month is Kevin Long, who captured a majestic shot of a stag sitting beside a tree as the sun rose during the first frost of the season on October 10.

Kevin said: “As the sun started to rise the frost was crunching under our feet in the cold crisp air, as a deer rested before contemplating his strategy.”

Annette Mary Radford also captured a crisp hoar frost – when water vapour in the air comes into contact with solid surfaces that are already below freezing point, forming feathery and hair-like ice crystals.
