THE theme for our October Camera Club competition was “crisp” - and there was a range of stunning entries as our keen photographers explored Sussex in all its autumnal glory.
Our winner this month is Kevin Long, who captured a majestic shot of a stag sitting beside a tree as the sun rose during the first frost of the season on October 10.
Kevin said: “As the sun started to rise the frost was crunching under our feet in the cold crisp air, as a deer rested before contemplating his strategy.”
Annette Mary Radford also captured a crisp hoar frost – when water vapour in the air comes into contact with solid surfaces that are already below freezing point, forming feathery and hair-like ice crystals.
Other entries included Angela Courtnage’s carpet of colourful autumn leaves in Firle Park and the view from Bear Road in Brighton on a cool crisp evening by Tyrone Campbell.
Following the announcement over the weekend of a second national lockdown, the theme for our November competition is “the bright side”.
To enter, join our Camera Club at www.facebook.com/groups/cameraclubargus and post your photo in the pinned competition thread, with a note to say where and when it was taken.
The winner will be chosen at the end of a month and as usual there will be will be a £50 prize.
