BOXING champion Chris Eubank has spent lockdown learning about dinosaurs and Othello.

The former world-middleweight champion and US police marshal says he does not need a Mike Tyson-style comeback.

Eubank, 54, is the same age as American great Tyson, who is returning to fight Roy Jones Jr in Los Angeles later this month.

But Mr Eubank says he has no reason to get back into the ring and is spending his time learning about dinosaurs.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: "I've been doing a lot of studying.

"When things go back to the normal way of being, I'll have one or two topics to talk about.

"I've been studying dinosaurs. Deinos means fearfully-great and sauros means lizard. So it's fearfully-great lizards.

The Argus:

"Also, I've been studying some Shakespeare. And how wonderful that is. It's really something.

When asked whether he would be returning to the ring, he said: “[Benn?] I think that was a lot of Chinese whispers. I can’t give any credibility to hearsay.

“I don’t think I need to go back and prove anything. I did my winning, I did my losing, I took my beating.

“And I think I acquitted myself like a gentleman. So I don’t have any more reasons to go back.”

Mr Eubank, with a team of ex-boxers, will be delivering the "stupendously powerful" Xbox Series X console to competition winners next Tuesday.

Last month, the ex-world champion rushed to the aid of a woman struck down by a car.
