TWO more people in Sussex are reported to have died with coronavirus over the last 24 hours.
NHS England figures show 129 people have died in hospital at Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on yesterday.
That was an increase of one compared with Sunday, when the total was 128.
It means there have been three deaths at the trust in the past week. The previous week there were no new deaths recorded.
Figures show 104 people have died in hospital at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
That was also an increase of one compared with Sunday, when the total was 103.
There have been two deaths in the past week at the trust.
The victims were among 3,765 deaths recorded across the South East.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
This means some of the deaths that were recorded in the latest period may actually have taken place days earlier.
Case and death data for the UK was not available as of 6pm yesterday.
A spokesman for the Department of Health and Social Care said: “Owing to technical difficulties, we have not received cases data for England.
“We will update the service as soon as possible.”
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 2,578 cases in Brighton and Hove, 3,352 in East Sussex and 5,992 in West Sussex.
