THERE were 204 more people diagnosed with coronavirus in Sussex in the past 24 hours.
Public Health England figures show the number of recorded cases in Brighton and Hove increased by 39 between 9am on Tuesday and the same time yesterday.
There have now been 2,650 people who have been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in the city since the start of the pandemic.
A further 44 coronavirus cases have been diagnosed in East Sussex, where the total is now 3,430.
A further 121 coronavirus cases have been diagnosed in West Sussex, where the total is 6,223.
Between 9am on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday, 25,177 people tested positive for the virus across the UK.
The numbers of patients in hospital and ventilator beds continues to rise – the totals are 12,320 and 1,142 respectively.
In the UK, 492 more people died within 28 days of a positive test.
The nationwide death toll now stands at 60,051.
