POLICE have launched an investigation after a body was found near the Sussex border.

Officers cordoned off a large area in Horley after the body was found at about 8am.

The body, of a man in his early 60s, was found at an address in Upfield Close, about two miles from Gatwick Airport.

Police cars filled the street and forensics teams flooded into the area as enquiries began into the incident.

Police confirmed that "an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of his death".

The force said that enquiries are ongoing.

Officers closed several roads in the area and thanked residents "for their support and cooperation while we carry out further enquiries".
