POLICE raided a suspected cannabis factory and found £500,000 worth of the drugs growing.

The plants were seized after police carried out a search at an industrial estate off Roundstone Lane, Angmering this week.

Several suspects were arrested on suspicion of their role in growing and producing the class B drugs as police launched an investigation.

Video footage shows crime scene officers with bolt cutters in white overalls at the site, gathering evidence inside one of the buildings.

Locals said they could smell the pong from 150 yards away.

District Commander Chief Inspector Jon Carter said: "We work tirelessly to reduce harm in our local communities and would ask anyone with information or concerns to make the right call and report it to us."

Dozens of plants were found, complete with fans, heating, and lighting to make sure the plants could grow.

He said several men were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis and remain in custody for questioning.
