POLICE are hunting for a man who was released from prison part-way through a four-month sentence.

Aleksej Volkov was serving time for driving while disqualified.

He was released early but was later found to have broken his prison discharge licence conditions.

The Probation Service now require his return to prison as a result.

The 38-year-old's last known address was in Wick, Littlehampton, and Sussex Police are urging residents to contact them if they spot him in the area.

Volkov is white, 6ft tall and has an athletic build, with short black receding hair and brown eyes.

He has tattoos on his right torso and right arm, and may also have a goatee beard.

He speaks with an eastern European accent, police say.

A force spokesman said: "Anyone who sees Volkov or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact the police right away on 101, or 999 if he is present, quoting serial 1242 of 27/10.

"You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
