A LARGE haul of drugs and cash was seized by police when they stopped a car.
Officers took action in St Anne's Road, Eastbourne, last Tuesday after plain-clothed patrols spotted a suspected drug deal nearby.
They witnessed the suspected illegal exchange take place in a car in Bourne Street at about noon.
At 1.15pm, further "suspicious activity" was seen in Grange Road. The same car was, again, involved.
Uniformed officers were called and the vehicle was stopped in St Anne's Road.
Police raided the car and uncovered cocaine and cannabis with a combined street value estimated to be in the region of £9,000.
They also found about £2,000 in cash.
Shkelqim Belshaku, of no fixed address, has been arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, using a motor vehicle without insurance, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.
The unemployed 42-year-old appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday, and was remanded in custody to next appear in court on December 2.
