PATROLS have been stepped up after reports of a van driver approaching children.
Police have received reports from the children in Littlehampton.
They reported being approached by a man driving in a black van, and told adults about what had happened.
Now Sussex Police is asking parents to remind children not to talk with strangers, and an investigation is underway.
The force said patrols have increased in the area to make sure children are kept safe.
In a statement the police said: “We have increased patrols in the Littlehampton area after reports of a man driving a black van and approaching children.
“The children spoken to were able to quickly inform an adult and the matter is being investigated.
“We are asking parents to speak to their children about not engaging with strangers. You can report any suspicious behaviour to us either online or call 101 quoting reference 1303 of 10/11.”
