This is a round-up of drivers who have appeared in court in October and November for drink and drug driving in Sussex.

The Argus will focus on those with higher alcohol breath and blood tests who put other people’s lives at risk with their stupidity. It includes motorists from outside the county who have been caught on our roads.

JOSEPH ANDERSON

Aged 66, of Ashdown Road, Worthing, admitted drink driving in Angola Road on February 15. Tested positive for 249 milligrams (mg) of alcohol per 100 millilitres (ml) of blood. The legal limit is 80mg per 100ml. Must do 70 hours unpaid work with a £90 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for two years.

TIMOTHY CATT

Aged 57, of Waterside Close, Hastings, admitted drink driving in St Helen’s Road, St Leonards in a Jaguar X Type on June 23.Tested positive for 126 micrograms (mcg) of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg per 100ml. Given an eight-week suspended sentence with 20 rehabilitation sessions, a £128 surcharge and £45 costs. Banned for two and a half years.

JAMIE BALDWIN

Aged 25, of Franklands Village, Haywards Heath, admitted drink driving in a Land Rover Discovery in the town on October 9. Tested positive for 113mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Must do 60 hours unpaid work, with a £90 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for two years.

JEREMY GOODCHILD

Aged 60, of Watersmead Drive, Littlehampton, admitted drink-driving in a Volvo in Shoreham on July 8. Tested positive for 110mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Fined £120, with a £22 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for 23 months.

NICU GORGAN

Aged 29, of St Aubin Close, Crawley, admitted drink driving in a Citroen at Pease Pottage on October 10. Tested positive for 99mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Must do 60 hours of unpaid work, with a £40 fine, £95 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for two years and one month.

ANTONY HARRISON

Aged 56, of Chichester Road, Bognor, admitted drink driving in a Mercedes on the A27 in Chichester on July 28, driving without valid insurance, and failing to attend court. Tested positive for 87mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Fined £290, with a £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for 21 months.

CRAIG SANDALLS

Aged 35, of St Cyriacs, Chichester, admitted drug driving in a Vauxhall in Blomfield Drive, Chichester in January and for possessing a class C drug pregabalin. Tested positive for cocaine in his body. Fined £150, with a £32 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for one year.

JEFFREY MATHER

Aged 70, of High Street, Belmont, Bolton, admitted drink driving in Hawthorn Road, Bognor on June 29. Tested positive for 98mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Fined £44,with a £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for two years.

ASHLEY HILTON

Aged 26, of Iona Way, Haywards Heath, admitted drink driving in a Vauxhall Vivaro in the town on October 7. Tested positive for 91mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Must do 40 hours of unpaid work, with a £95 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for 23 months.

IAN HOWARD

Aged 35, of Bond Road, Mitcham, London, admitted drink driving at Gatwick on September 30, and driving without a valid licence or insurance. Tested positive for 83mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Fined £280, with a £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for three years and four months.

SERGEJS VASILJEVS

Aged 27, of St Augustine’s Road, Littlehampton, admitted drug driving, and driving without a valid licence or insurance in Bradford on September 26. Tested positive for cocaine and cannabis in his body. Fined £690, with a £32 surcharge and £85 costs. Banned for 18 months.
