A ROAD is being closed for more than two weeks so patching works can be carried out.

Highfield Avenue, in Dovercourt, is being closed by Essex County Council for 16 days.

The closure is scheduled to start on December 7.

The council says the closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken.

An alternative route is available via Fronks Road, Newton Road, Main Road and vice versa.

Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
