THE most popular property in the UK has been revealed - and it is not a grand mansion or even a luxury apartment... but a static caravan in West Sussex.
A two bedroom holiday home at Bunn Leisure site in Selsey is the most viewed property on Zoopla in the last 30 days.
The caravan, on sale for £44,995, has been viewed more than 60,000 times, as people search for somewhere to escape amid the lockdown.
According to the agent Hamilton Parkers, the caravans at the site are “extremely popular and selling fast”.
Built in 2015, the caravan is not even the latest in the range of Regal Kensington’s holiday homes, which boast “refined glamour”, according to the company.
While caravans may bring back memories of sore heads, awkward pull-out furniture and a particular episode of Father Ted for many, at 13ft wide and 39ft long, this holiday home is more spacious than many apartments.
There are two bathrooms and the kitchen even has a dishwasher.
The holiday home comes at less than a third of the price of the cheapest two-bedroom flat in Brighton currently advertised on Zoopla.
Consumer spokesman for the site Tom Parker said: “This second lockdown, combined with the Stamp Duty holiday, has turbo-charged the property market.
“With people increasingly looking to get away from it all, the static caravan in Sussex, close to the beautiful town of Chichester and right on the south coast, has proved to be incredibly popular with people looking for something different.”
A holiday home is not classed as a permanent residence and it is illegal to live in one permanently.
