A cyclist was robbed and threatened with a knife near to Gravesend Community Hospital, Kent Police said yesterday (November 18).

The reported robbery took place in broad daylight on Thursday, November 12, around 12.15pm.

The victim, a male cyclist, was cycling down an alleyway which connects Bath Street and Stuart Road in Gravesend.

The streets run parallel to one another in between Gravesend Community Hospital.

While in the alleyway, another man approached the victim and pushed him off his bike, a spokesperson for Kent Police described:

"The victim was cycling down an alleyway, which connects to Stuart Road, when he was approached by another person who pushed him from his bike.

"He was then threatened with a knife and had a quantity of money stolen.

"The suspect has been described as a black and aged between 14 and 18.

"He is around 6 feet tall and clean shaven with black, slicked back hair. At the time, he was wearing a black blazer, white shirt and a black backpack," a police statement read.

Kent Police are appealing to the public for help in finding the perpetrator, after previously having arrested a 16-year-old boy from Gravesend who was since released pending further enquiries.

"Officers have carried out several enquiries, including a review of CCTV, and would now like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

"They would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the assault and has dashcam footage.
