A BRIGTHON MP has become involved in a Twitter spat with former UKIP leader, Nigel Farage.

Caroline Lucas, MP for Brighton Pavilion, hit back at Mr Farage after he drew a comparison between her and Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

In a tweet, Mr Farage wrote: “The country voted for Boris Johnson and ended up with Caroline Lucas.”

The former MEP for the south east penned the tweet following the Prime Minister’s announcement of his new ten point plan for a green industrial revolution.

Ms Lucas responded to the remarks, suggesting that Mr Farage would be further opposed to her environmental policies if she occupied Number 10 Downing Street.

She wrote: “If only… If I were in charge instead of #BritainTrump, you’d be one hell of a lot angrier, believe me.”

It is not the first time Ms Lucas has compared the Prime Minister to Donald Trump after previously signalling for her desire to end Boris Johnson’s time as Prime Minister.

On Wednesday, Boris Johnson announced a £12 billion plan for the environment, saying it will create 250,000 jobs whilst helping the country to become emissions neutral.

Among the proposals is a ban on the sale on the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2030.
