Major delays and lane closures have been reported on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing after a crash in the area this morning (Friday, November 20).

Highways England reported delays of up to an hour on the M25 anti-clockwise in Kent, around Junctions J2 and J1b.

Emergency services including Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene earlier this morning after the crash was reported sometime after 5am.

Several lanes were closed in the immediate aftermath of the crash, and while these have since reopened, major delays continue to be reported.

As Highways England described:

"There are residual delays of at least 60 minutes above usual journey times on the #M25 anti-clockwise between J3 and J1B.

"There are also delays on the A2 westbound approaching J2. The carriageway is now open following an earlier collision."

Kent Police also confirmed their presence at the scene and warned road users of the situation:

"There has been a collision on the #M25 anti-clockwise between J2 and J1b which resulted in a full closure of the carriageway.

"Some lanes are now open again but drivers should expect delays," a spokesperson said.
