TWO new coronavirus deaths have been recorded at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust in the latest 24-hour period, the latest official figures show.

NHS England figures show 183 people had died in hospital at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust as of 5pm on Thursday (November 19).

That was an increase of two compared to Wednesday, when there were 181. It means there have been 10 deaths in the past week, up from nine the previous week.

The trust was caring for 64 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday. The data shows that the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on November 17 was up from 60 on the same day the previous week.

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust was caring for 31 coronavirus patients in hospital as of Tuesday.

At the Western Sussex Hospitals Trust the figure was 29. The Sussex Community Trust was caring for 26 coronavirus patients in hospital while the Sussex Partnership Trust was caring for 17.
