ARMED police stormed a property after reports of a man with a machete.

Three arrests were made as a rapid investigation led officers to the site in Brighton Road, Crawley, this morning.

Sussex Police were called to nearby Goffs Park Road at 9.45am after a caller told the force there was a man with a machete in the area.

The caller also reported criminal damage having been carried out in the road.

Witnesses later described seeing armed police surround a building in Brighton Road.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "Fast-time enquiries led officers to a property in Brighton Road, where three men were arrested on suspicion of affray.

"One man was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

"All three remain in custody at this time.

"A machete was found and seized from inside the property. No injuries have been reported."
