THREE men were injured when a stolen car crashed into a tree and telegraph pole.
Police were called about the stolen Mercedes E350 saloon in King’s Drive, Eastbourne, at 4.27am on Sunday.
Three men in the car were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the theft of a vehicle and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
Two had minor injuries and one suffered series injuries to his face and arms, but these were not considered life-threatening.
Police say no other motorists or pedestrians were involved in the crash.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) was informed because the vehicle had been seen by officers in the area.
Anyone who saw the crash or the Mercedes which had travelled from Eastbourne town centre, beforehand, is asked to contact Sussex Police via email on: collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or by call 101, quoting Operation Interval.
