LAW courts were evacuated over reports of a fire inside the building.
Dozens were told to clear the building at Brighton Magistrates’ Court in Edward Street this lunchtime.
They were seen gathered at an assembly point outside the building, which is also used for family court, health and safety, and Crown Court hearings.
A picture from the scene shows a fire engine arriving at the scene.
But the crews were able to stand down as there was a false alarm.
It is understood that cases were able to resume in the afternoon session from 2pm.
