A YOUNG woman reported being sexually attacked as she walked home near a city park.
Police were called to The Level in Brighton in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A 21-year-old woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said she was approached by a man and then attacked.
The incident took place between 3.30am and 5.30am police said.
Yesterday police had cordoned off an area at the park and near the junction with Oxford Street and Ditchling Road.
Witnesses said they could see scene of crime investigators in white overalls gathering evidence and taking photographs.

Patrols have been stepped up in the wake of the sex attack, Sussex Police said.
Detetive Inspector Vickie Maroki said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this incident and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.
“We would like to hear from any witnesses or from anyone who has CCTV or dash cam footage which captured the incident.
“We have stepped up patrols and if anyone is concerned or has any information please speak to the officers in the area.”
