A NEW pizza and pasta restaurant has opened on a busy thoroughfare, replacing a former Mexican hostelry.

Cibo Pizza-Pasta-Grill has been kitted out and serving takeaway customers during the lockdown in Western Road, Brighton.

The restaurant at the junction with Bedford Place will open its doors to customers eating in this week as Brighton goes into tier two restrictions.

The property had been the former La Choza restaurant, which served Mexican food and had a vibrant colour scheme.

It comes as many independent and indeed chain restaurants battle to survive following the second Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.

Zany pink and yellow signs have now been replaced by a black and gold facade.
