CCTV footage has been released after an armed robber raided a supermarket.

A masked man entered the Co-op store in Queen Street, Arundel, and threatened staff with what appeared to be a handgun at 9.55pm last Monday, November 23.

No shots were fired and nobody was injured but the robber stole thousands of pounds in cash.

Police are appealing to anyone who has any information or who recognises the man to come forward.

The suspect is white, about 5ft 8in tall and of a medium build. He is estimated to be between 20 and 40 years old and walks with a limp.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Pauline Lane said: “We would like to speak to anyone who recognises the man in the footage or witnessed a man matching the description acting suspiciously at the time of the incident.

“Those working in the shop were understandably shocked and we are determined to bring the suspect to justice.”

Police are also keen to speak to a woman who was seen entering the shop at the time of the incident.
