THE A259 will be closed for "some time" after a crash this morning. 

The crash in Bishopstone, near Seaford, happened at about 7.20am this morning.

Witnesses report that a person was cut out of a car before being put on a stretcher.

An air ambulance was also called to the scene.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Road closures are in place in Bishopstone near Seaford this morning following a collision.

"All lanes of the A259 Buckle Bypass junction with Marine Parade are expected to remain closed for some time.

It is reported there is heavy traffic in nearby roads due to the closure as motorists find diversions.  

Brighton and Hove Buses are being diverted from Denton corner via A26 and A27 in both directions.
