ONE of Brighton's biggest venues has adapted rapidly to new coronavirus restrictions to be able to provide a plethora of shows for music and comedy fans this month.
Singer Jools Holland and comedian Russell Kane are among the acts set to take to the Brighton Centre stage in front of socially distanced crowds.
With the city now in Tier 2 of the government's coronavirus alert system, entertainment venues can reopen after lockdown.
So long as they provide "Covid secure" conditions for audiences, they can hold performances in front of crowds of up to 2,000 people or half their capacity (whichever figure is lower).
To adhere to these updated government restrictions, the Brighton Centre has reduced its capacity from 5,500 to 504.
Rather than buying individual tickets, concert-goers will now pre-book a table which can seat up to four people from their household and support bubble.
And, rather than the usual time-consuming trips to the bar mid-way through a band's set, food and drink can be ordered online.
This will be served directly to visitors at their table throughout the performance.
Masks must be worn when not seated at the table.
Visitors will be given an arrival time and an entrance (green or orange) allowing the crowd to stay spaced out and socially distanced.
Tables can be booked on the Brighton Centre website HERE.
These are the performances set to take place in December:
- Russell Kane: Saturday, December 5, tables of four priced at £80
- Jools Holland: Saturday, December 12 (matinee and evening performances), tables of four from £140
- Absolute Bowie: Friday, December 18, tables of four from £68
- Bootleg Beatles: Saturday, December 19, tables of four priced at £100
- Forever Amy: Sunday, December 20, tables of four from £76
