MASTERCHEF winner Kenny Tutt is to take up residency at a Christmas festival to provide a gourmet experience.

Kenny, who runs Pitch restaurant in his home town of Worthing, will be a star attraction at the Christmas Pundemic festival in Jubilee Square, Brighton.

He will be serving street food-inspired delights from his van, Tutt’s Street Food Truck.

Kenny launched the truck during the second national lockdown, with a focus on bringing the best food to the streets.

At the festival he will be serving an array of festive fancies, including sirloin steak brioche rolls and vegan hot dog.

And everyone is invited to eat, drink and be merry – while remaining socially distanced, of course.

For Kenny, the jewels in the crown are his “hogs in duvets”, prime pork sausage wrapped in pancetta with sage stuffing and spiced cranberry sauce.

All the dishes focus on big flavours, with meat and vegetables cooked over fire and served alongside speciality toppings and sauces.

Revellers will be able to tuck into all of Kenny’s mouthwatering dishes while enjoying a variety of live entertainment provided by events company Midsummer Nightcap.

Alongside live performances, festival-goers can enjoy a range of entertainment, including Crimbo Cabaret and merry musical bingo.

Social media star and drag prince Alfie Ordinary is also set to appear at the festival.

Organisers have transformed Jubilee Square into a winter wonderland complete with Christmas lights, a winter dome and a heated outdoor seating area.

The event also aims to support to local businesses and performers by inviting them to be a part of the event.

Brighton-resident Francesca Nally, who founded Midsummer Nightcap, hopes the festival will provide festive fun while complying with social distancing.

She said: “I wanted to put on a series of events that would help support local businesses and uplift the community during a difficult time.

“We are delighted to be working with Hooray Events on the entertainment, as they will be involving many local artists.

“We are also thrilled to see that long standing member, Alfie Ordinary, will be one of the highlights, creating a line-up packed with festive fun.

“Jubilee Square is a great location for us to provide an exciting food and entertainment offering.

“Our unique winter dome will provide full protection from the elements and will house our stage, our segregated tables, heaters and we will provide drinks from the Christmas bar.

“It will certainly be the most ‘wine-derful time’ of the year.”

The event will be using the NHS test and trace system to ensure the maximum safety of staff, customers and artists.

It will run on selected dates from tnow until December 31.
