A SUSSEX model has welcomed people back to her pub after eight months of closure.

Landlady Jodie Kidd reopened The Half Moon in Kirdford near Billingshurst, yesterday, after a "crazy week" getting the venue ready.

The pub now has a new winter wonderland marquee to allow people more space for social distant seating, and even an owl-topped Christmas tree.

And staff have been busy creating a special menu of bar meals - including Scotch eggs.

The pub is fully booked this weekend, with fellow model Cara Delevingne's family reportedly among those who have booked a table.

Jodie told the MailOnline: "They're locals and they've been very supportive.

"What counts as substantial - two Scotch eggs or one?

"I think two, but we do whoppers."

Earlier this year, the Celebrity MasterChef runner-up expressed fears her pub would "not be going full speed again until before Christmas".

Now the pub is open again for evening meals on Thursdays, for lunches and evening meals on Fridays and Saturdays, and for Sunday lunches.

An update shared on The Half Moon Facebook page states: "To all our amazing locals and drinkers - oh how the Half Moon has missed you.

"From your cheery smiles to your funny banter- that’s what makes this an amazing village pub.

"Although we might not be able to see you standing at the bar- we would love to welcome you all back and catch up with you all.

"Here’s to a full weekend of happy customers. Tis the season to drink and be merry."
