SIX patients have died from coronavirus in our hospitals.

Figures from NHS England show three people died at the Royal Sussex County Hospital on Tuesday.

It takes the total number of deaths from the disease to 208, with 12 deaths in the past seven days.

Meanwhile two people died in Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust taking the total of recorded deaths to 151 this year.

Meanwhile the East Sussex NHS Trust which runs hospitals in Eastbourne and Hastings reported a further patient had died on Tuesday.

The NHS trust covering Crawley and Surrey reported a further four patients had died.

NHS England guidance states: “Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.”

Nationally there were 369 deaths reported. The total is now nearly 65,000.
