A man has died following a collision on Christmas Eve, Sussex Police have announced.
Officers are appealing for witnesses after a silver BMW, which had been travelling West, left the road and collided with a tree at 10.40 pm.
A 21-year-old from Horsham died at the scene on the Washington Road at Steyning close to Wiston House, despite the efforts of emergency services.
Police remained at the scene for six hours for investigation and recovery to take place.
The road was closed on Christmas Day to allow highways to clear the carriageway.
Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for witnesses to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or ring 101 quoting Operation Finchley.
