A map showing the latest coronavirus hotspots has revealed that cases are continuing to rise across the Maldon district as the infections rate nears 700.
Essex is currently under tier 4, the highest level of coronavirus restrictions, but on Wednesday (December 30) the Government will review the tiers.
Data from Public Health England shows that the infection rate across the district stands at 694.6 per 100,000 people.
It also shows that 451 cases have been recorded in the last seven days.
The latest data is for the week leading up to December 22.
The highest infection rate continues to be in Danbury and Bicknacre where the infection rate has soared to 1,257.0 and 115 new cases have been recorded in the last seven days.
Burnham-on-Crouch has the lowest infection rate at 515.2 and 41 new cases.
