A ROAD was closed following a crash on a bridge involving a car and a cyclist.

The collision in Shaftesbury Avenue, Worthing, happened shortly before noon.

Emergency services were called to the scene.

A police car was parked across the southbound carriageway to stop cars from accessing the road.

Further along, on a bridge in the road, pictures showed and ambulance parked and dealing with an incident.

A Sussex Police spokesman confirmed officers had been called to a crash involving a car and a cyclist.

The force said the cyclist had sustained minor injuries, and the road was temporarily closed.

The carriageway was reopened at about 12.10pm.
