AN AWARD-WINNING author says he is excited to finally see a television adaption of his novels hit the small screen.

Peter James’s best-selling series about Brighton-based detective Roy Grace will air on ITV later this year.

Filming for the series took place in locations across Brighton and Hove over the past few months as well as Shoreham and Peacehaven.

Writing on Twitter, Mr James, who has a home in Henfield, wrote: “At the end of a difficult year, I thought it might be nice to share something we are excited for in 2021.

“I am looking forward to seeing ITV’s adaptation of my Roy Grace books.”

John Simm, known for his appearances in Doctor Who and Life On Mars, will star in the lead role as tenacious Brighton detective Roy Grace.

ITV has reported that the series will air in two parts, with both episodes lasting 120 minutes.

The official date has not yet been confirmed but it is thought likely to be in the spring.
