SEVERAL stores at the Churchill Square shopping centre in Brighton will remain open throughout the national lockdown which was announced last night.
The lockdown means all "non-essential" retailers must remain shut, but "essential" retailers and those offering click and collect services may remain open.
Food sites offering takeaway options may also continue to operate.
The government website states: "All non-essential retail, hospitality and personal care services must close, or remain closed.
"Restaurants can continue delivery, takeaway or click and collect of food and non-alcoholic drinks, but venues will no longer be able to serve takeaway or click-and-collect alcohol.
"Essential shops and garden centres can remain open."
As a result, several sites at Churchill Square shopping centre in Brighton will continue to offer services to customers over the coming months.
The centre's website states: "Following the recent government announcement, Churchill Square’s essential stores and services remain open.
"This includes a number of our stores who are offering click and collect services, and takeaway."
The "essential stores" which will remain open, according to the Churchill Square website today, are:
- Holland & Barrett
- iSmash
- Superdrug
- Vision Express
- WHSmith
The stores which will remain open, offering click and collect services, at Churchill Square are:
- Bershka
- Fossil
- Goldsmiths
- H Samuel
- Hollister
- Next
- TH Baker
- Vodafone
- Zara
The food retailers which will continue offering takeaway options at Churchill Square are:
- Costa
- Krispy Kreme
The Churchill Square website urges customers to "check individual store pages for their opening times".
It states: "We would like to thank our shoppers for their continued support and look forward to welcoming you back to Churchill Square
"Respect others, stay safe."
