SEVERAL stores at the Churchill Square shopping centre in Brighton will remain open throughout the national lockdown which was announced last night.

The lockdown means all "non-essential" retailers must remain shut, but "essential" retailers and those offering click and collect services may remain open.

Food sites offering takeaway options may also continue to operate.

The government website states: "All non-essential retail, hospitality and personal care services must close, or remain closed.
