A DRIVER has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a van flipped in a serious crash.
The collision happened on the A26 Eridge Road in Crowborough shortly after 12.30pm today.
The van came to rest on its side with debris left scattered across the carriageway.
The road is currently closed and police remain on the scene.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 12.39pm to reports of a serious collision involving a van and a car on the A26 Eridge Road, just north of Crowborough.

"The driver of the car has been flown by air ambulance to Kings College Hospital, London, in a life-threatening condition.
"The road is currently closed in both directions, and is expected to be so for some time. Motorists are asked to avoid the area while emergency services manage the scene.
"Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Smallfield."
An AA report from the area stated that "traffic is coping well" despite the continuing road closure.
