The Jubilee Square restaurant had not been earmarked for closure but the company said it had been served notice by the building landlord.

A spokeswoman for the pizza chain said the company was doing everything it could to support staff at the Jubilee Square branch.

She said: “Whilst our Jubilee Square pizzeria wasn’t included in our Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVA) which was approved in early September last year, the landlord has subsequently served us notice.

"This has sadly resulted in the closure of the restaurant and we’re doing everything we can to support our team.

"Customers are welcome to order delivery or collection from our Prince Albert Street restaurant in The Lanes and our At Home range is available from all major retailers.”
