A MAJOR road has been partly closed this evening after a serious crash.
There is heavy traffic in the area due to an accident on the A27 near Fontwell, east of Chichester.
The incident happened just past Fontwell Racecourse at approximately 5pm.
According to the AA, one lane is losed on the A27 westbound from the A29 Fontwell Avenue (Fontwell Services Roundabout) to the B2233 Nyton Road Eartham and Aldingbourne turn off.

Emergency services, including the fire service, have attended to the incident, in which a car has come off the road into bushes, according to reports from the scene.
