A WEATHER warning for snow is in place over parts of Sussex until 8pm today.
The Met Office alert came into effect overnight and covers the northern half of the county - stretching as far south as Haywards Heath.
The Sussex coast does not fall under the weather warning.
However, it appears the entire county has, so far, been untouched by snowfall.
There was widespread disappointment on social media this morning as many had geared themselves up for a blanket of the white stuff in their home town.
@metoffice issued a yellow warning of #snow. Thought I’d wake up to #Sussex blanketed in it. Instead we just have wind and rain. Ho-hum. Never. Ever. Going to believe a forecast of heavy snow in East Sussex again.

The Met Office announced it would be issuing the weather warning yesterday, with cold weather forecast this weekend.
The alert stated: "A band of heavy snow may bring disruption as it moves eastwards on Saturday."
As a result, people living in affected areas are being warned to expect:
- Possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel
- Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers
- Some rural communities could become cut off
- Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected
Horsham Police issued a warning this morning to drivers travelling on roads affected by adverse weather conditions over the weekend.
A spokesman said: "While we haven't had much snow this winter, a road accident could be a result of black ice on the roads and there's nothing to say we won't get the snow.
"Have you checked your tyres lately? Four new tyres is cheaper than what the cost could be."
