A PERSON was trapped in a car after a crash on the A23.
Fire crews were called to the scene of the collision near Pyecombe shortly after noon.
It has been reported that the car hit a tree.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We were called to a collision on the A23 at 12.09pm.
"Our team from Preston Circus and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews from Henfield, Burgess Hill and Crawley attended the scene.
"One person was trapped, and they were released from the vehicle.
"All crews have now left the scene."
