WITH a huge amount of sadness, I have just read the letters page in today’s Argus (Tuesday, January 19) from Keith Herriott, John Armstrong, Stephen Guy and one un-named person.

All the letters were referring to the constant abuse of the Covid lockdown rules by people who seem to have been born brainless.

Do these people not realise that we would all like to go out and get some fresh air, ride our bikes, visit friends or go window shopping??

I am fortunate whereby I am married, but a lot of my friends are single and live on their own. They, as are my husband and I, obeying all the rules, as much as we can. They would love to go out or have visitors

for coffee/tea and a chat.

We have both had our first Covid jab, but that does not make us 100 per cent safe. Even if we were, we could, and can, be carriers.

I go to Asda on a Thursday and do my own shopping, which I prefer. However, I am always very pleased to get home again. My only other outing is if I need to go to the bank, which isn’t very often.

We have a neighbour who has not taken any notice of the lockdown rules since the very beginning of the pandemic.

There is a flow of visitors, regular outings, no spacing or wearing of masks.

While I was sitting in my car in the car park of our surgery waiting for my husband to have his jab, there was a woman walking about. She was leaning on the hand rail speaking to a lot of elderly people on their way to/from getting their

jab. As she walked past me, I opened my window and asked her why she wasn’t wearing a mask. She said she didn’t have to as she was outside.

I pointed out that she had been speaking to a lot of elderly people. She then stomped off.

What exactly can we do to get through to these stupid idiots? It makes me livid and extremely sad.
