ESCAPE to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend are looking for people to take part in the next series.

Has your dream project become a nightmare and you don’t know which way to turn?

Channel 4 are currently searching for applicants who need a helping hand from hosts Dick and Angel Strawbridge.

In Escape to the Chateau, the husband and wife offer a viewers a close-up look at the remarkable renovations they have carried out on their French chateau.

In this spin-off series, Dick and Angel will team up with families across the UK to provide them with advice and inspiration for their own DIY and design projects.

The first series aired last year as part of Channel 4’s commitment to help people navigate through the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dick and Angel Strawbridge said: “It’s humbling that our audience wants to see more of us and our adventures.

“Between the pair of us we have nearly a century’s worth of “make do and mend” experience and so we are really excited to be making this brand-new series.

“Capturing our life at the Chateau has grown out of a fantastic creative relationship with Lizi Wootton, who we have worked with for more than four years.

“It’s fantastic to be partnering with such an experienced and dynamic team.”

Channel 4 deputy head of features and formats Sean Doyle said he is “delighted” that the channel can support people with their DIY dilemmas during lockdown.

He said: “Dick and Angel will be sharing their homemade handiwork with the nation at a time when many of us are taking the opportunity to make fixes around the house and embark on those creative projects we’ve always wanted to do.

“In these unprecedented times, they will bring great joy, warmth and know how into the sitting rooms, sheds, attics and cupboards across the country.”
